The team

Portland is looking for brilliant individuals to help drive the digital team forward. With no two days the same, your activities will focus on helping our clients to communicate with everyone from political and business audiences to campaigners and opinion formers.

Often, this will require you to work both independently and as part of a collaborative and dynamic team. Our digital experts sit within the Centre of Excellence, alongside our Research and Creative teams. The work we do is integrated, spanning the entire breadth of communications counsel and campaigns Portland delivers for clients around the world.

The roles

Due to exciting new growth this year, we’re looking for:

  • Associate Consultant (Approx 2-3 years)
  • Consultant (Account Manager) (Approx 3-5 years)
  • Senior Consultant (Approx 5 -7 years)

Associate Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Helping to devise and deliver proactive and reactive digital engagement strategies and campaigns.
  • Stay abreast of current news, trends and insights, and their relevance to our clients, sharing insights and considerations.
  • Be able to unearth key insights, using digital tools, to analyse data, evaluate Impact and unlock the most effective strategy and approach for each client.
  • Drafting a range of materials from online articles to tweets, to briefings.
  • Preparing training modules to upskill junior colleagues across the business.
  • Coordinating, managing and undertaking social media monitoring and suggesting engagement off the back of it.
  • Organising and coordinating set piece events and running digital campaigns.
  • Planning and executing paid social campaigns.
  • Responding quickly and accurately to client requests.
  • Supporting new business proposals and pitches.
  • Helping to develop understanding of, and skills around, digital communications within Portland.
  • Taking an integrated approach by sometimes supporting our range of clients.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • 2-3 years of experience.
  • Experience of delivering strategic digital campaigns for clients across.
  • Previous experience or internships in parliament, agency or inhouse roles.

Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the team to manage and deliver creative digital communications strategies from formulation through to execution – organic and paid across multiple channels.
  • Provide creative and strategic digital advice to clients.
  • Stay abreast of current news, trends and insights, and their relevance to our clients, sharing insights and considerations.
  • Be able to unearth key insights, using digital tools, to analyse data, evaluate Impact and unlock the most effective strategy and approach for each client.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for clients.
  • Write razor-sharp digital copy and develop ideas for compelling content.
  • Input into new business pitches, proposals and presentations.
  • Direct and mentor junior account members; providing quality control, coaching in the delivery of digital workstreams and oversee team assignments.
  • Establish trusted relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Help to develop understanding of, and skills around, digital communications within Portland.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • A track record of building successful digital campaigns that have impact.
  • Experience in an agency environment developing new business leads and pitching would be beneficial.

Senior Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Lead global digital accounts from multiple sectors and industries.
  • Hold the pen on new business pitches and support the new business effort across the portfolio.
  • Provide senior counsel and strategic advice to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability of driving a digital culture across teams and specialisms, beyond digital experts.
  • Proven experience and track record working across issues, crisis and risk management.
  • Lead in the development of creative communications strategies for diverse clients and issues, ensuring their successful delivery.
  • Orchestrate and drive large and complex pieces of client work.
  • Support the growth and development of the team through high quality line management of junior members of the team, identifying growth opportunities and taking an active role in marketing activities.
  • Build internal and external networks with colleagues, opinion leaders, professional associations, online influencers and other relevant third-parties.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • 5-7 years of experience.
  • A proven track record in devising and delivering strategic digital campaigns for clients.
  • A commercial self-starter with an agency background or have extensive experience working in an in-house digital management role.
